The East Asian Language
Teaching Program
The East Asian Language Teaching Program
of Institute of East Asian Studies, Thammasat University has
continually provided Japanese, Chinese, and Korean courses for
more than 18 years to meet the needs of both students and
general public. All our courses are responsible by proficient
teachers, both Thais and native speakers. After completing all
required courses, student will receive certificate.

Objectives:
1.To provide opportunities for students in
various fields to study and practice Japanese, Chinese, and
Korean, and enable them to use these languages in their future
careers effectively and efficiently or to further their study at
universities in East Asian countries
2.To increase the opportunities for general
people to get high-skilled professions requiring East Asian
language skills
3.To promote knowledge and understanding about
East Asian Culture among Thai people

Japanese Teaching Program
Japanese Teaching Program offers four basic levels: B1-B4,
three intermediate levels: M1-M3, and two advanced levels:
A1-A2.
Basic levels
focus on listening,
reading, and speaking skills, everyday conversation,
Hiragana, katakana, and Kanji alphabets, basic grammatical
rules, basic sentence structure, and around 1,200
vocabularies. After passing B4, students will receive
certificate.

Intermediate
levels
focus on reading
and writing skills. Students are expected to know around 400
Kanji and 1,000 vocabularies plus from basic levels. After
completing intermediate levels, students will be equipped
with all four skills and can use Japanese correctly and
fluently in daily life.
Advanced levels provide
the knowledge about complex grammatical rules, listening and
reading for main idea, and high-level kanji. Student will be
able to use Japanese effectively and efficiently.

Korean Teaching Program
Korean Teaching Program offers three basic levels: B1-B3
and two intermediate levels: M1-M2.
Through all basic levels, students will study and practice
Hangul (Korean alphabet), basic grammatical rules, making
sentences, everyday conversation, pronunciation skills, and
around 1,000 vocabularies. After passing B3, students will
receive certificate.

Chinese Teaching Program
Chinese Teaching Program offers three basic levels:
B1, B2, and B3.
Through all basic levels, students will study and
practice
basic grammatical rules, Chinese character writing,
making
sentences, everyday conversation, and standardized
pronunciation. After passing B3, students will receive
certificate.

Application:
To apply for the East Asian Language Teaching Program, you
can apply by yourself at Institute of East Asian
Studies. You are required to attach a copy of ID card or
student ID card, a copy of transcript, and two 1-inch
photos.
